PAN - In The Beginning

-
The year was 1961. A meeting was held at the Trentham Hotel and that is where the Potteries and Newcastle Motor Club was formed. This was mainly to get away from the types of events that were being organised, social and competitive by North Staffs Car Club.

-
The Club was affiliated to the appropriate agencies in 1962.

-
Meetings took place at the Trentham Hotel until a move to the West End Pub in Stoke was made.

-
1967 saw the club move to the Rose and Crown at Etruria but sometimes when a pub changes hands; the incoming tenant has different ideas of how they want to use the premises.

-
1970 saw the club move to the Bucknall Bowling Club for three years. By this time the club had grown and was asked to move.

-
A short stop at the Bulls Head at Hanford, was followed by club HQ being moved to the Old Conservative Club in Stoke in 1973. The Cons Club was about to move to new premises due to the area being demolished for the A500 construction.

-
Next stop was to The Hockey Club in Whisper Lane, Butterton, then Stoke Rugby Club, The Winghouse Tittensor, The Borough Arms in Newcastle (Circa 2005) then to the current venue The Vine PH in Silverdale.

We mainly support rallying, with a number of members officiating in various guises (mainly marshalling). We also have members competing in historic, single venues and forestry events and as a club we host track days at Curborough, Lichfield too.

We currently meet at Newcastle (Staffs) Rugby Club, Lilleshall Road, Clayton, Newcastle Under Lyne, Staffordshire, ST5 3BX on the first Tuesday of the month from 8pm.
